History

The name Oakpark Powerline was founded in 2015 when the company changed to current ownership. Prior to operating as Oakpark Powerline the business was founded by Dick Wilford in 2005 and operated as Oakpark Contracting Services where services were concentrated in serving the high voltage industry. The high voltage field came naturally to Dick as he previously founded, competitor, Village Enterprises Ltd in 1979.

In 2015 Oakpark Powerline started with a handful of pieces of equipment and a dozen workers, gradually growing as our reputation became known. As Oakpark began to grow they moved from their old location on Highway 210 to their current stomping grounds on Highway 75. By 2018 the company had added full-time administrative staff to support it’s growing fleet and personnel and began dipping it’s toes into out-of-province work. By 2020 the company was growing and purchased Village Enterprises, acquiring its talent and expanding to over 100 personnel with a fleet of over 100 vehicles/equipment and established a permanent presence in British Columbia.

Today, Oakpark Powerline Services Ltd. is proud to be a majority Métis owned company, COR certified High Voltage Line company that provides our customers with a comprehensive range of high and low voltage electrical construction and maintenance services including but not limited to overhead powerline construction and maintenance, substation construction, maintenance and inspections, underground distribution construction and maintenance, fiber optic cable system installation, street lighting installation and maintenance, horizontal directional drilling and water pressure vacuum excavation.
